This is a personal list of top hip hop artists in the music industry in recent years. The list was compiled not by units sold, but by the artistic merit of the album.

If you feel I have missed a few great hip hop artists, forgive me, there are so many!

To limit the list I concentrated on artists that had at least one classic album and gave special emphasis to any artist independently produced. Contact me about any artists if you feel they should be on the list.
